A strong team of runners from across KBW portfolio companies turned out in force on Friday 1 November to take part in the Dubai Festival City Half Marathon.

Fitness fans from around Dubai and beyond joined the team for the event, which allowed runners to choose between half-marathon, 10km and 5km runs, as well as the 1km children’s race.

The route took participants through a number of local landmarks, including Dubai Festival City Mall, the Automotive Park and the Festival Bay, Marsa Plaza and Al Badia Residences.

Altogether 46 runners from Arada and the KBW Investments portfolio companies took part, led by Chief Financial Officer Shimmy Mathew.

Sixteen runners completed the 5km race, while 27 finished the more demanding 10km race. This is the second consecutive year of staff competition in the marathon, bolstered by an ever-increasing company-wide commitment to health, wellness, and community spirit.

Three runners – Angeline Siervo, Kashyap Shah and Toby Mills – completed the gruelling full half-marathon (21.1km) course, with fitness guru Angeline recording a time of 2 hours and 28 minutes.

Held as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the Dubai Festival City Run was held with the support of Dubai Sports Council, Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Municipality.
