The official Topping Out ceremony of the Novotel Sharjah Expo, an AED120 million project aimed at expanding the Emirate’s busy hospitality and MICE sector, took place with HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Basma Group.

“We staged the Topping Out ceremony to mark our milestone completion of the structure. We’re currently ahead of schedule and already making steady progress towards our next milestone, the façade,” explained Sam Chehab, Projects Director, Klampfer Middle East.

“To complete the façade, we’ll need to increase our onsite workforce by approximately 20 percent, with the work executed by a subcontractor under the purview of Klampfer Middle East,” he said, adding that the Novotel Expo Hotel is anticipated to be fully completed within 12 months.

Developed under the directives of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Novotel Sharjah Expo is the most recent addition to Sharjah’s hospitality and tourism industry, comprising 200 rooms that fall under three categories – standard rooms, club floor rooms, and executive suites – in addition to a business centre and two meeting halls, one of which can service larger functions at approximately 200 sq. metres.

Awarded to Klampfer Middle East in July 2016, the formal groundbreaking of Novotel Sharjah Expo took place in the presence of officials representing the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Expo Centre Sharjah in November 2016. Strategically located in Sharjah’s Al Taawun business district, the hotel has a projected completion schedule of approximately 24 months.
