Official Turkish agent, AKEM Group, commenced work on large-scale jobsite in Antalya, a touristic waterfront hub in the country’s southwestern region. The new entertainment and shopping complex, under the purview of builder and developer Odak Group (Odak), promises to present a wide variety of opportunities for the hospitality and retail sectors in the country’s fifth-largest city.
“We have erected a total of five cranes at the Agora Antalya jobsite in Kepez supporting the build with our technicians as well as undertaking routine periodic checks to ensure the smoothest possible operations and highest safety values. AKEM Group is proud to be a part of this project, especially given Antalya’s strategic importance to Turkey’s tourism sector,” said H. Okan Deligöz, General Manager, AKEM Group.
The cranes erected, one MRT159 8t., one MRT144 8t., and three MRT111 8t., are scheduled to be onsite for approximately 12 months and planned for dismantle this coming July. “Odak, with nearly four decades of experience across multiple sectors including construction, is a valued partner of AKEM. We have worked together previously in 2013 and we look forward to continuing to support all of the company’s endeavors.” Deligöz explained that four of the cranes were sold to Odak, while the MRT159 has been rented to the company for the duration of the project.
AKEM Group is known for its multi-crane jobsites, the most famous of which is the Ankara Etlik Entegre Sağlık Kampüsü (Ankara Integrated Health Campus) which at one time had a total of 36 Raimondi tower cranes operating onsite simultaneously.
