Agreement shows rapid progress on all fronts as sales at Sharjah’s newest address continue

Progress at Sharjah’s largest mixed-use project, Aljada, is continuing at pace following the signing of a key partnership agreement between developer ARADA and the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA). The agreement, which was signed by ARADA Chairman HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi and HE Dr Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of SEWA, will ensure that the 24 million sq. ft. megaproject in the heart of Sharjah will become a fully self-sustained district in terms of energy consumption and infrastructure maintenance.

ARADA’s partnership with SEWA will result in the construction of one 132 kilovolt (Kv) substation at the north-eastern corner of the Aljada site. A further fifteen 33/11 Kv substations will also be built, guaranteeing power to every section of the community.

HE Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of ARADA, said: “We are delighted to have taken another vital step forward in the development of Aljada. This partnership with SEWA will ensure that residents, workers and tourists to this destination will benefit from world-class, efficient electricity and transmission networks.”

HE Dr Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of SEWA, said: “This partnership is in line with SEWA’s aim to support the development of Sharjah and to empower local companies. We look forward to working with ARADA to complete the construction of the substations and networks in a timely manner.”

Aljada, a master-planned destination covering over 2.2 square kilometers that is set to transform the future of Sharjah, was unveiled by HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, during an exclusive ceremony in early September. Since that date, and helped by ARADA’s first appearance at the Cityscape Global real estate showpiece, over 500 units in Aljada’s Phase 1 have been snapped up by buyers, making the project Sharjah’s fastest-selling residential community.

In October, ARADA launched the Anber Community, a collection of 84 exceptionally designed villas and townhouses ideally located near the heart of the development. The Anber Community features a selection of stylish and spacious villas and townhouses, all with extensive gardens and direct access to a lush and landscaped private park. Buyers can choose from a wide variety of two, three and four bedroom residences, positioned close to Aljada’s leisure and entertainment destination, the Central Hub.

With a gross real estate value of AED24 billion, Aljada is ideally situated on the last major plot of undeveloped land in the heart of Sharjah, with exceptional connectivity to surrounding areas, and is an all-encompassing district that comprises considerable retail, leisure and entertainment options, in addition to a wide range of residential and commercial offerings.

Delivered in phases starting in 2019, construction on Aljada will begin in the first quarter of 2018 and the entire project is expected to be completed by 2025. The Aljada masterplan is carefully designed with walkability and wide green spaces in mind, allowing residents, workers and visitors the ability to live, work, play and be entertained within an all-inclusive and self-sustained precinct.

Buyers interested in purchasing their home in Aljada are invited to attend ARADA’s dedicated sales office in the Badriyah Ballroom in the Radisson Blu Resort, Sharjah, between 10am and 7pm between Saturdays and Thursdays, or call 800-ARADA.
